I don't know anything about the guitar. Do you take students like me?

Absolutely! Just think, you have no bad habits. While taking lessons at The East Bay Guitar Academy you will be mentored by an experienced teacher that can guide you in developing proper technique.

What is a good age to start?

How old are you now? We have students that range from 6 years old to over 80! If you have the desire, you can play an instrument no matter what age you are

I'm interested in learning to read and write music. Do you teach that?

Yes, we do. We encourage all our student to learn basic music fundamentals like music reading and theory.

Sometimes I may need to skip a lesson. Will I be charged for that lesson?

We know this is a busy area with people traveling a lot and kids involved with school activities. So, to avoid being charged for a lesson all we ask is for 24 hour notice so that we can reschedule another student into your time. Without the notice you will be charged for that lesson.

I would like to schedule a lesson, what should I do?

You can email at eastbayguitar@gmail.com or call at 646-306-7468. We’ll be happy to work with your schedule and find a time that works best for you.

"Our 12-yer old son started working with Robert as a novice, and has been very happy with the whole experience. Robert is patient with kids, takes the time to know his student, and introduces his craft at a pace that suits each student. Our son loves his class, and we are very satisfied customers."
Manish B.

"I like Robert's teaching style. As a parent, I observe how he teaches and he really looks at how the student plays and can tell what the problem is behind a specific issue. He is good with young kids. He tries to get to know the student, what their interests are and uses these interests as analogies to help the student understand the lesson, be it music theory or interpreting a piece how the composer had intended. Highly recommended!"
